Sugar olive oil scrub is a simple and effective exfoliating scrub that is completely natural and has been used for centuries. As it lacks the harsh chemicals that so many cosmetics contain today, it is gentle on the skin and won't leave it too dry or feeling tight. The instant results are amazing, and you won't want to stop feeling how smooth your skin is.

So, what will you need?

  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Sugar
  • Honey
  • A container
  • Rose water (optional)
  • Tablespoon
  • Stirrer
  • Baby wipes to wipe up any spillages, as I found out too late =.=;

And what do we do with those ingredients?

Firstly, these measurements are just a guide. You can add more or less depending on your preferences and the size of the container.
  1. The messiest part comes first: add 5 tablespoons of sugar to the container.
  2. Next add 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Extra virgin is less acidic and the least processed of all olive oils, so therefore better for your skin. I'd ran out of extra virgin olive oil so I used normal olive oil because I'm cheap and lazy >_<
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of organic honey. The oil will have lubricated the spoon, making it easier to pour the honey. Clever, eh?
  4. This step is optional, but as I use rose water as a toner anyway, I decided to put it in. Add half a tablespoon of rose water.
  5. Now mix until the stirrer is able to stand on it's own. Add more sugar or honey if the mixture is too thin and more oil if it is too thick.
  6. Cleanse face as normal then, with the skin still damp, apply the scrub all over, avoiding the eye area, and massage for about 1 minute.
  7. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
  8. Enjoy the soft and smooth feeling of your skin.

I'd suggest not using the scrub every day as, even with the most gentle of products, the skin will dry out and be forced into producing more sebum, which results in greasier skin. Greasy skin with dry patches? Ugh, no thanks.
